Abstract Art

Abstract art uses a visual language of shape, form, colour and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. The arts of cultures other than the European had become accessible and showed alternative ways of describing visual experience to the artist. By the end of the 19th century many artists felt a need to create a new kind of art which would encompass the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philosophy.

Netball Skills

Today we had our kiwi sports activities. We are learning netball skills. Our coach is Anne, she is from Auckland netball. First we lined up outside our class then walk to the courts where Anne was waiting.
She was talking about what we were doing today.

After that we had a warm up game called shadow follower. The game involves a parter and you have to touch your parter on the shoulder then your parter will move his arms around and you have to try and touch his hands while being 1.9 meters away.

Next we were still in pairs then we found anther two pairs so we could play an intercept activity. The game is about you have to try pass the ball to your parter while the person beside your parter will try to intercept the ball.

While playing that game Anne blowed her whistle to come so she could explaine the next activity. We got our seven people and played a corner attack game game. It was about four people in there corner and two people in middle, one receiving and one intercepting and there is a caller out side calling a number.

Finally we played a game with two teams and each person had a number and Anne our coach called out a number and you have to into the middle to grab the ball and pass it to number one then number one has to pass it to the rest of the team. It was a cool game but we lost in the end.

Sleep Over at Friends

In the holidays I went to my cousin, Levi Rudolph’s, house to sleep over. I brought some clothes and my PlayStation 3. When I got there I woke Levi R up because he always sleeps in. Next I put my bag away and Levi R got up and had a shower.

After that we got on the computers and started playing online games such as Agar.io and other gaming websites. We continued playing for many hours and it was around 5.30 so we decided to go on the field and we saw our friends playing a game of rugby. We went and ask if we can join the game and we all had fun until it got dark so Danny-Joe, Miami, Nga Nga, Levi F and Jayden all decided to walk back to their houses. Levi R and I also decided to walk back.

It was around 7.45 and Levi's Mum, Robyn said dinner's ready and we all went to the kitchen
to get our dinner. We had butter chicken and it was yummy. After we had dinner, we hopped back on to the computers and I was using social media and Levi R was reading comic books.

Finally it was getting late so we decided to watch a movie on the PlayStation. We watched Kung Fu Panda 3 and it was funny. It was a really funny and an interesting movie filled with laughter and drama. The movie finished and we started talking and finally fell asleep.

Mix Messages

On Sunday it was Hemi’s birthday and he invited me to come with him. He said the location was gonna be secret so it can be a surprise. Next he rang me to meet him at the park and bring some money. Although he forgot to tell me when to meet up, I just went early to the park.

When I was there I started to get worried that he wasn’t coming. Finally he arrived and we walked to this place in Panmure. I keep asking him “Where are we going Hemi?”. He still kept it a secret.

After that we were there and I saw a pin on the roof. I started to get an idea of what we're gonna be doing. We entered the secret location and Hemi pulled out 100 dollars then he asked me if I brought my 100 dollars. Then I yelled “100 dollars!!!” - “You said bring some money not a pocket of money”.

Finally I had no choice but to walk home crying until I can reach my bed.

Ripper Rugby

On Thursday 31st of March, Our class had an experience playing ripper rugby. Our coach was Matt, he is from Varsity rugby club. First we had a warm up game called Ripper Rush. We put on our belts and tags to get ready for a warm up game. The game is played by one person as a tagger and he calls out a colour or something that describes what your wearing and you have to try go past the tagger to move on.

After that, Matt got us to focus on our passing and taught us some important tactics to help us improve on our passing skills. We were passing in a  cycle for 10 minutes. After that we had a game of three on five. There were three people on one side and five on the other side. The team with three people were the defenders and the team with five people were trying to score a point. We cycled for 10 minutes then we had a  game of Ripper Rugby.

It was a intense battle between the yellow and white team. We had an awesome time playing ripper Rugby and we thank the coach for teaching us Ripper Rugby skills.
